Welcome to Romiley Golf Club

Romiley Golf Club was founded on 29th July 1897 and was originally known as Woodley and Romiley Golf Club. Course architect, Tom Renouf, used the natural contours of the land to plan and design what is now regarded as one of the best layouts in Cheshire with stunning views across the county and the foothills of the Peak District National Park.

The golf course measures 6412 yards and has a par of 70 with every hole tree-lined making an idyllic yet challenging course.

Romiley Golf Club offers excellent amenities for visiting players and societies. After your round, refreshments and light snacks are available in the clubhouse bar or if you prefer, take advantage of the fantastic catering facilities in the Club's fine restaurant.

Enjoy your golf

A gloriously sunny day greeteg Mr.Captain, Derek Worthington, on the traditional Drive In. Supported by his wife, Janet Worthington, and his two sons, Simon and Andrew, the smile on Derek’s face was as wide as the Amazon Basin It was, of course, April Fool’s Day. We all thought the joke was the huge driver that was given to Derek for the first hit off the tee. However it was the unexpected explosion of the golf ball leaving a pall of talcum powder which brought the most laughter.

Four excellent drives from Derek, our incoming President, Roger Whalley, Lady Captain, Audrey Jones, and the new Junior Captain, Oliver Andrew, led to warm, appreciative applause. The combined distance of 807 yards was the best for many years and Vice Captain, Simon Hebden took the money (a lot of money) for the best estimate.

And so the golf began and Clark and Parke were on the mark with a win on the Front 9. To make it the ideal day would you believe that Mr. Captain and Lady Captain won the back 9 with Audrey playing out of her skin following lessons from our pro, Alex White, so she tells your editor.
